Kathmandu — In a significant step toward nurturing technical skills in Nepal’s growing film industry, the Film Development Board (FDB) recently distributed drone efficiency certificates to 25 professionals and provided scholarships to 22 film students.

The fortnight-old program aimed to enhance the technical backbone of Nepali cinema, particularly in aerial cinematography, which is now in high demand right through feature films, documentaries, and commercials.

FDB authorities pointed out that the drone certification program guarantees the safe and lawful operation of drones and raises the level of production quality. The scholarships, on the other hand, are intended to alleviate financial pressures for talented students of film studies, allowing them to concentrate entirely on their craft.

Industry experts say this is a big leap forward as Nepal’s film industry embraces modern technology and international practices, and invests in fresh talent who will carry the industry forward.
